Kacy Jakobs is a Speech Language Pathologist at Westdale Heights Academic Magnet. She was born and raised in Zemmer, Germany. She grew up speaking both English and German. She attended American school at Spangdahlem and Bitburg Air Force Bases. In 2008, she moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana and attended Louisiana State University. In 2011, she graduated with a B.A. in Communication Disorders. She completed her M.A. at the University of Texas at Austin in 2013. Upon graduation, she moved back to Baton Rouge and completed her Clinical Fellowship Year at the Emerge Center. In December 2015, she transitioned from the clinical setting to the school setting and began her job at WHAM. She has taken extensive continuing education in the areas of Autism, Behavior Analysis and Intervention, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and Fluency. Kacy is currently working on her clinical doctorate in speech pathology and will graduate (fingers crossed!) in December 2021! She loves working with the staff, students, and families at WHAM and they have become her home away from home.
